Another epic fail in trying to blog for 30 days straight, been busy with a lot of personal stuff aside from completing my requirements for school.
Day 17: Someone whom you'd want to swap lives with and why:
Angela Lansbury, and excuse me for saying this, but only an idiot will say that s/he does not know who she is. She is the voice of Mrs Potts in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Aunt Adelaide in Nanny Mcphee and of course, Jessica Fletcher in Murder She Wrote. I first saw and knew her as Semadar in Cecil B. Demille's Samson and Delilah. She has lived an extraordinary life and I practically grew up watching her. Also I would have loved to be able to perform for Broadway, she has the most number of award nominations unfortunately has only won a few of them. I would also have loved to see Hollywood back in the day, before box office, anorexic drug addicted actresses, and the like.
Day 18: Plans/dreams/goals.
- have a stable job either as a writer, editor or a photographer. Preferably all and for a publishing company.
- study digital photography on scholarship at a university in Jogjakarta, either for next year or the year after.
- buy a condo unit in Taguig or Makati. I love these two locations because people are free to walk and in SIDEWALKS no less.
- buy a four-wheeled auto like a Hyundai Santa Fe. Its size is perfect for Manila since it is always flooding with only little rain, it runs on diesel making it cheaper to fill it up than with gasoline and it can seat at least ten people! Perfect for out of town trips with my friends and/or soon-to-bes.
- trim down to at least 130lbs.
- jog every morning or at least thrice a week.
- eat more fruits and vegetables and red rice.
- eat little chicken and only fresh water fish.
-learn to bake other goodies than just cookies and brownies.
- buy a point and shoot camera.
- buy a new dslr camera or new lenses and other equipment.
Day 19: nicknames and why.
Precious - by family, relatives, family friends and by my one and only
Tots/y - my former yaya was responsible for this after she mispronounced Precious to Pretots and it stuck.
Ali - by college friends, and I made everyone else call me this since a lot of them can't spell my real name correctly.
Naya - another nickname concocted by my one and only.

DAY 14, 15 & 16 Blog Challenge
Another epic fail. Haha! Been busy lately with school, twas our finals week and then I had personal stuff to do.
Day 14: Photo of you and your family.
NO to this one. Although I can post photos of me and my friends, I cannot post photos of my family here for their own privacy.
Day 15: 10 songs fromIpod .
Embarrassingly, I do not own anIpod . I refuse to buy one until Apple has finally invented my IDEAL Ipod which I am not going to say here. Hehehe..
Day 16: Another photo of yourself.
Photo from my phone after I treated myself to some much needed pampering.

DAY 13 Blog Challenge
A letter to someone who was hurt you recently:
To whom it may concern, (for privacy sake I will make it as vague as possible as to whom I am writing to)
I admit that things have been shaky between us lately. You've had your faults and I've had mine. So its not fair to say that it is my fault entirely, people tell me to lower my pride but in truth you haven't lowered yours either. If we are fortunate enough to meet again, face to face, let's be adults about this. If we really cannot go back to the way things were before, then let us at least treasure what we had, put it in a trunk under lock and key, bury it and move on with the rest of our lives. With that said, I hope that you have a better life ahead because I know in my heart that I most definitely will.
I wish you luck on your new life without me.You're on your own, kid. If I managed to live without you before I met you, then I can certainly continue living without you after you leave. Like I said earlier, if there is no hope left, then there is no use in continuing it any longer. So farewell, stranger.

Day 12 Blog Challenge
How did you found out about Blogger:
The memory's a bit vague, but I think it was because my friend Sjen had opted to create an account here instead of continue using her Multiply account. After going through other blogs, I thought of creating one as well just to follow those amazing blogs. Mostly, I follow my former editors in Summit, a few friends and some fashion blogs.
This is such a baduy question, honestly.

DAY 09,10, 11 Blog Challenge
Epic fail on trying to blog for 30 days straight.
Day 9: Something you're proud of in the last few days.
- my godson, Bernard, who was a very brave and very good boy when he was sent to the hospital after a classmate of his poked him with a pencil near his left eye. Parents of the classmate (a boy) claimed that it was an accident and that he was just being a child, but there were EYE witnesses so it disproves their statement. Instead of filing a formal complaint, Bernard's mother offered that the parents should pay for the medical bills -- which really was fair since it was after all their son who was wrong at the time. I went and visited Bernard just recently and he is doing well as any five-year-old can be. His wound has healed but left a thin scar. As for the parents, they refused at first but conceded after the principal of the school talked some sense into them.
Day 10: Songs you listen to.
Mad: Chopsuey by System of a Down -- it releases all my anger, frustrations, resentment, etc. and the growl (?) helps as well.
Sad: Love songs dripping in heartache
Happy: Broadway. Seriously.
Hyper: techno-esque beats.
Bored: 80s and 90s songs
Day 11: Another picture of you and your friends.

Gift Two, J. Neil C. Garcia
Sharing one of my favorite poems.
Lost in the sea's unforgiving blue, I seek you. Before me the day unscrolls its naked scripture: sun, vision's burning field, islands, faint presences crumbling in the distance, water, the fickle immensities life is made constant by. And it strikes me I love the sea because it borders this suffering world and the next: the soul, it is said, travels in a boat from a winding inland river, homing clear-eyed toward the ocean-- which is the bottomless beyond. And I know: here, upon this beach, wash the crushed remains of what was once mortal: bone and kelp, driftwood and tentacle, porous red coral-- keepsakes life leaves behind before dissolving back to brine. I am home here, then, whom the world never loved, and from its torn edges I can almost see it all end: an onrushing tide, a radiant sea-swell sweeping away all appearance, gentle eddies whittling the self till it is no longer even sand. I think of you landlocked and lost in another element-- your body. The sea teaches me love is a wish not for safety but for destruction. I am not ashamed to admit it: I love you the way water loves. Which is to say I wish the world were through with you, so you could return to me ravaged, upon this shore: a shell held tight inside my palm.

Continuation 2
Continuation part 3 of the Marcel Proust questionnaire:
1. On what occasion do you lie?
- I try not to lie, but when I do usually its to protect other people.
2. When and where were you happiest?
- I was happiest when I was at SM MOA with my boyfriend's whole family, because everyone was present -- even the babies. Before that, there was so much tension and stress that it was a relief to finally have everything settled and forgiven.
3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
- I really ought to learn not to give my all to people. I trust too easily. I've been hurt before and yet, I still let other people hurt me one way or the other.
4. If you died and came back as a person or a thing what would it be?
- If I died and came back as a thing, I want to come back as an animal like a sea turtle.
5. How would you like to die?
- Before, I would say something dramatic and that I would haunt friends and family and see how they would react to my death. If they ever truly loved me and all, but now I'd just rather die peacefully and surrounded by a loved one ala Robin Williams in the Bicentennial Man, or ala James Garner and Gena Rowlands in The Notebook.

Biggest impact on you:
He has made the biggest impact on my life, in the seven years that we have been together. I hope that he will still continue making that impact for the remainder of it.

DAY 06 Blog Challenge
Favorite super hero and why?
I used to like Batman because he was just an ordinary man without any super powers or mutations. All he had were his skills in combat and his common sense.
But now I figured that super heroes are overrated and sexist.
Sexist because the women have to have a "girl" or a "woman" after their super hero names. Wonder woman, Cat woman, Bat girl, Super girl, Hawk girl, and the list goes on. Why does a male superhero need to add "man" at the end of their names? Batman, Superman, Aquaman, etc.
...Maybe becoming a man is overrated. We live in a society that says to be considered a real man; one must be violent, macho, etc. Can't a man be loving, appreciative, loyal, monogamous? Must they be these animals that are cruel and unloving? In this day and age, who knows where to find a man like that..

- Procrastination. Nuff said.
4. What is the trait you most deplore in others?
- Materialism. Disloyal. Blind.
5. What is your greatest extravagance?

DAY 05 Blog Challenge
Places you've been to:
I thought of posting photos of all the places I've traveled but instead I'll only show the most recent.
My last out of town trip was to the Quezon Province for the Pahiyas festival.
The last time I traveled outside of Luzon was to go to Davao.
And the last time I traveled outside of the country, was to go to Macau and Hong Kong.

The Marcel Proust Questionnaire
This questionnaire was not created by Proust, on the contrary his answers were the most remarkable even at the age of 13. Read more here. To answer your own questionnaire, click here. Big thanks to Miss Mariel Chua for posting this on her blog, NY Minute Now.
1. What is your idea of happiness?
- I have two. The first being with my fiance lounging in front of the television, watching a DVD of our favorite Broadway musicals (The West Side Story comes to mind), eating Jollibee chicken and chocolate ice cream, with the occasional cuddle.
The second one is being with my best girlfriends at a restaurant, eating and chatting away about the good old days, our present lives, our love lives-- everything. Whenever I'm with them, I feel as if the whole world is a blur that it comes to a point where we wonder what ever happened to the time because we were all having such a good time together.
2. What is your greatest fear?
- My greatest fear is death -- the afterlife, the reincarnation, the whole she-bang. My fear is that, I have searched all my life for the people I am with now and it kills me whenever I think that I will have to find them again in the next life. Will I be so lucky the next time? Torture.
3. If you can change one thing about your family what would it be?
- Communication. I think the big age gap between my siblings and I are a factor for us not being as close as I would like. I envy my soon-to-bes because all of them are so close, though they have their moments, in the end they still love one another and do not hold a grudge towards the other.
4. What is it that you most dislike?
- Right now, I hate it when people do not properly dispose their chewing gum.
5. What do you most dislike about your appearance?
- My biggest problem right now is my weight. I have big arms, thighs; my already small head looks smaller because my body has gained so much weight. However, I am doing everything I can to lose this weight, starting with learning how to self-control.
I answered only five questions, five more will follow until I have completely answered all the questions in this quiz.

DAY 04 Blog Challenge
A habit that you wish you didn't have:
Impulsive food shopping.
I am happy to report though that I have taken control of my bad shopping habits. It has been three weeks since I last had any junk food, sodas included. I only allow myself a bar of chocolate whenever I have the craving, but mostly I munch on fruits now. Hopefully, this won't be a phase and it will be something I will do for longer so that I can finally, finally lose SOME weight.

New polish and ring
Superficial entry alert, let us deviate for a sec from the blog challenge.
I just love, love, love my new ring (middle) and manicure.
Yesterday went to Salon One in BF Homes, Pque. to get my hair and nails done. Super overdue treat for myself after all the stress I went through for the past couple of months.
My new nail color is from Bobbie called Gingerbread, bought it at the drug store for only 35 bucks. It may be cheap but what I love most about it is that it doesn't LOOK cheap. To me its one of those perfect shades that is neutral enough to go with any outfit and sparkles just the right amount for it to be fun, aaand it makes my skin look fairer. Muy importante.
I'll be using this color forever.

A photo of you and your friends:
Been looking forward to this day. Meet my soul mates :)
In our friendship, it doesn't matter if we don't get to spend as much time together as we'd like to, nor the fact that we barely get to talk to one another. What matters most is that no matter what goes on in our lives, we are still the best of friends.
<3 them!

DAY 02 Blog Challenge
Since its already 12:50AM, technically its already Day 02 of my blog challenge.
Reason behind your blog name: Chocolate Turquoise.
No brainer, these are just some of my fave things; turquoise and chocolate. Also if you look at a turquoise stone, the lines running all over it looks almost like a chocolate river. So there.
Oh another thing, I love the color combo of turquoise and chocolate brown. Hee hee..

30 day blog challenge, copied.
As a way for me to fully invest in this little blog of mine, I've copied this list from another friend's blog -- to keep things interesting here. Besides, I'm tired of trying to come up with new topics to write about since I cannot rant here as freely as I would want to as there are some people out there who have "scolded" me time and again that not everyone is interested in what I have to say. I say to them and to others out there, what else is the purpose of having your own little space to let out all your frustrations on? Its cyberspace, there are LOADS of spaces out there for rant blogs. If you do not like what the writer or blogger wrote on their blogs, then simply skip and move on to other blogs. This is a personal blog, meaning I have the right to say what I want to say, when I want to say it.

Feminism doesn't sparkle, a blog
My friend posted this link on her Facebook account, it is a blog written by a fellow Twilight hater.
I admit that I have never read any of the Twilight saga books, but I am fully convinced that it is definitely not a good investment when it comes to books. Books are expensive enough as it is, and I refuse to waste my money on something that is badly written and teaches women to be weak and stupid.
Women of the past (and present) fought to be put in the same position as men; to be treated equally and respectfully, but there are still some who have yet to receive that memo. There are still some who still treat women as if they are lowlier than a caterpillar, and sadly, there are still some women who let these men do so.
Well, I for one say that the mistreatment should stop NOW.
Martyrdom is dead, don't waste your time resuscitating it.

On Emma Watson's new do and on experimentation
I love it!
It's so Mia Farrow in "Rosemary's Baby."
Oh how I wish I have the nerves to pull a style like that, but unfortunately I can't. I don't have Watson's bone structure or beauty to pull it off. Also, I swore that I will never cut my hair short again until I have lost a good 30lbs. off of my current weight. I have a small head and a big body, by cutting my hair short I will look like a shrunken head. So there.
I heartily agree with Watson when she said that being young is the age of experimentation. So I've decided on experimenting with my clothes instead. I am so OVER with the whole statement tee, shorts and flip-flops look. Since I was confined to the house thanks to some unwelcome bumps on my body, I've been pouring over magazines and fashion blogs looking for that specific "look." And I think I know now what looks to go after, keeping in mind that I want to look presentable, edgy, young and fearless instead of being sloppy, unimaginative and downright boring.
I am only young for a few more years, what better time than now to do it, right? In keeping up with this new thing I'm going, I thought of posting photos of myself in outfits that would launch me to the "new ME" and I hope that you guys can comment on them as we go along..
So cheers to what hopefully will be the new me. :)

Dilemma and new venture
It has been weeks since I last posted something here, and I must say that I do not know what to write!
I have a lot of things on my mind as to how to make this blog more interesting, but I am stumped on which idea I should do first. After reviewing my old posts, I thought about making a segment to my ukay post a few months back since I've acquired new ones. Then my former editor at Cosmopolitan has her 30-day blog challenge and a batch mate of mine from high school is doing the same thing, only in 15 days.
Sooo..that's my dilemma.
BTW, I have a new venture that is closer to my heart than the ones I may have mentioned here. I am now selling jewelries. Costume, of course. I'll let my mother deal with the real ones for now. My love for jewelries stemmed from my mother who has proven to have quite an extraordinary taste for them. Though she cannot rival the collection of Annabelle Rama, my mother knows a lot when it comes to the finer things in life. So if you are interested in taking a peek, simply click here and fill up the simple form. I only do meet ups in Alabang, Las Pinas and Paranaque areas and in DLSU on Saturdays.
